We are going to be playing at Dean's Credit Clothing next Tuesday, June 9th. We will be going on about 7pm and keep playing until we're done.
So if you are working downtown and wanna hang out a little while afterward, come on. We will probably be there around 6:30. Come have a beer! If your not working downtown, come on downtown and experience The Funky Little Dean's Credit Clothing and a whole lotta rocking STAMEN!
Dean's is an old department storefront turned into a hip bar at 316 Main street. While the owners have taken great care to preserve the space's historical aesthetics, they've also created quite a saucy spot. Look up when you walk in -- mannequins decked out in the hippest vintage stand atop clothing display cases that line exposed brick walls. There's plenty of seating between the open cases of clothes. At the back bar -- the original cash register counter -- there are sectioned-off spaces they call confessionals. They make for a more "confidential chat."

Regretfully, due to professional differences, Brad is no longer with Stamen. Brad is an awsome guitarest and a great person. We're gonna miss him.
Good news though, we found a new guitarist, Dustin Clark! He's been playing blues jams for a long time and has been involved in the Houston music seen for many years. This is his first rock band he's been in and he has already picked up all the songs. This kid rocks!
We have been working hard and booked some gigs in the upcoming months. We have some new songs and we would love for you to come on out and have some fun with us. We are really excited to show Dustin off.
Our first gig is this Sunday @ 2:30 at the Catty Corner Ice House (895 Wakefield Dr Houston, TX 77018). It's right around 45 and 610 North. There are other bands that are going to be there as well.
Come join us, celebrate Memorial Day and dig our new stuff.

We are still finishing up in the studio. Yesterday we finished up three more songs.
- Pictures of Jane
- Tennessee Drowner
- Dead Love
We only have three more songs to go, so one more time in the studio. Then they have to go for mastering and then printing then we done baby. All that's left is you enjoying them.
I have updated the songs on the player so listen to the new versions and let us know what you think.
|
We are back in the studio and we are working on finishing everything up. Five of the songs are mixed down and ready to go and I have already update them on the player.
- Smooth and Erratic
- Halo
- Josephine
- Hate Sex
- Stars, Sex and Death
Go take a listen and let us know what you think. It's not too late to change something. We are going back in the studio next week and we are going to mix down some more. We would love to have some input!

Stamen is going to be playing with Brown Shoe this Wednesday, October 8th at Dan Electro's Guitar Bar. Since it is on a Wednesday we are going to be having an early show so we will be on at 9:00pm.
Brown Shoe is a band from Folsom, California and they are doing a national tour. From California to New York. They are pretty good. Check them out.
For those of you that missed our last show at Fitzgerald's. Dude, you missed it. There was something about that the night that made it kick ass. Don't miss this Wednesday when we do it again.
|
Now that this Ike has cleared out and we have cleaned up and getting electricity back, it's time to let loose a little bit and get some of those frustrations out.
We are going to be headlining downstairs at Fitzgerald's this Friday, Sept 27th at 11:00pm. We are also going to be celebrating Adam's (the drummer) birthday!
So come out, start to feel good again and remind Adam how old he is getting.

If you are going to be stuck hunkering down all weekend though a hurricane, you might as well go out and have some fun first!.
Come join Stamen as we jam out at Dan Electro's Friday, Sept 12th @ 10:30.
Free Hurricanes! (the drink) Dan Electro's is an ice house, so as long as you buy a set up from the bar, I got a Hurricane for ya while supplies last and if I'm in charge of the pitchers, it ain't gonna be long. So get there early.
We also got a butt load of stickers in, so if you want to get your Free Sticker, come on down and ask for one.
I hope to see you out there, let's hang out before we all get blown away.

We have booked more shows. Dan Electro's Guitar Bar and Fitzgerald's. in September and a public Haloween party in October. We are also working on another gig early October and the Last Concert Cafe' sometime early November.
Check out our upcoming gigs on our shows page. Check back often. We are always adding more gigs.
If you want us to come play by you, send me the name of somewhere near you that has original bands that play there. We will hit em up. We are always looking for new places to play.
|
We just got a boat load of Stamen stickers in. You want one? Send me an email at stickers@stamenmusic.com and I will get some out to ya. Self addressed stamped envelope? Na, I don't think so. You want to show your Stamen? Dude, we got the stamp.

We are going to be playing The Texas Buzz Showcase at The Scout Bar this Sunday (July 27th). We are all pretty excited. The web site said, "Join us here for the Texas Buzz every Sunday with a live remote from 94.5 the Buzz, featuring three Texas bands and hosted by Zakk United." So I'm thinking, "cool, gonna be on 94.5". Well, that's not quite the case.. they are just going to be broadcasting live from there, but not necessarily playng our gig live. Zakk said he "may" play one of our songs. Oh well, still very excited. It's going to be a great night. I understand if some of you "old folks" don't make it out, but if you are not doing anything else at 10pm on Sunday... I expect to see you there!
|
We found out the other day that we were invited to play at Rock the Bayou http://www.rockthebayou.com! We are pretty excited. It is going to be sometime over Laborday weekend. They are going to draw for slots, so we won't know until next Thur (July 23rd). Well will let you know as soon as we know.
|
We are going to be playing at Dean's Credit Clothing Friday Aug 8 at 9:00. Choose from premium well drinks, beer, and wines by the bottle. Be sure to try the frozen cosmopolitan, or its dirty version if you enjoy a dose of Grand Marnier. And yes, clothing purchases can be charged to your bar tab.
It is on main street downtown. Sounds pretty cool, huh?

The practice space for my band was broken into and lots of stuff was taken. Enough that it took us a little while to replace enough just to have a decent practice again. But we have finally replaced everything that was stolen and we are practiced up and ready to rock again.
So that means It’s time again for another Stamen show! That’s right, we’re back at it and this time we’ll be playing at our home away from home, Dan Electro’s Guitar Bar.
We’ll be opening the show at 9:30 and joining us will be our friends in PJ Flowers and Super Pancho Combo. So come on out and enjoy some great live music in an intimate and friendly environment.
Hope to see you there!

It’s that time again. Time for some great music and a hot time with your favorite band! This Friday (May 23rd) Stamen will be throwin’ it down at Acadia. We go on at 10:30 and will be followed by Houston’s one and only Fondu Monks! If you haven’t heard the Monks before you really should check them out. They’re constantly voted best funk band in town by the Houston Press reader’s poll. Opening the show will be The Rising at 9:30.
On top of this great show Stamen’s hitting Beaumont, TX Saturday (May 24th) night at the Log On CafĂ©. We’ll be rockin’ out with Y2Steve. A band we meet a few months ago playing the Last Concert CafĂ©. They’re a great group of guys and tremendous musicians.
So come on out and join us!

Well after one hell of a weekend playing at Acadia and Austin Stamen’s doing it again this weekend!
We’ll be rocking out at Dan Electro’s Guitar Bar April 12th @ 9PM. This is a benefit show for the owner who had an accident and his medical bills are piling up on him. The show also includes some other GREAT Houston bands such as The Fondue Monks and PJ Flowers. If you’ve never been to Dan Electros it’s a Houston institution in the music scene and a groovy little joint to boot!
We are also going to be celebrating Peter’s birthday, so come out and give him a hard time about how old he is and how much grey hair he’s getting.
So come out and support your favorite local band and help out a great club that’s supported awesome live music in Houston for over 30 years!
Also, if you didn’t get to make it out to the last two shows there are TONS of pictures up on our myspace page! And while your surfing the net check out http://www.youtube.com/user/bratfaerie for a few live videos of us at Acadia.
