Formed in 2005 Stamen is an alt-rock/indie band founded by long time friends Dwaun Thomas and Adam Poranski (singer, songwriter, guitarist and drummer respectively). Dwaun and Adam have played together in various incarnations of other bands for years and were joined by Adam’s brother Peter on bass in 2005 to form Stamen.

Currently Stamen is in the studio hard at work on their first album but has played the likes of The Scout Bar, Fitzgerald's (upstairs and down), Acadia, Rudyard's, Dan Electro's Guitar Bar, The Last Concert Cafe, The Engine Room, FBI Rocks 1 and 2 as well as other bars and parties in Houston and Austin.

We have played at Rock the Bayou (http://www.rockthebayou.com) as well as The Texas Buzz Showcase hosted by 94.5's Zakk United at the Scout Bar.

Stamen has a unique and unmistakable sound ranging from aggressive Funk-Rock to Retro Punk. Their deep, fresh and original music ignites audiences everywhere.
